Our Company's History

In November of 1992, Kevin King and Mark Rutherford originated the concept of Atlanta Roofing Specialists during their family’s annual Thanksgiving get-together. Kevin was working in the insurance restoration industry. Mark was working as a crew foreman with his father-in-law, who he began working with while stationed at Fort Benning as an EMT/combat medic. Together, they recognized Atlanta’s need for a roofing company that prioritized quality installations with the highest quality materials available.

Following several months of planning and prep work, Atlanta Roofing Specialists was officially incorporated in March of 1993. Today, 30-years later, ARS continues to be a family owned business recognized as an industry leader in quality work and superior service.

What Makes us Different than Other Roofing Companies

In the early days, Kevin focused on sales and running the business side of things and Mark worked with the crew as the foreman and installation manager. Today, both Kevin and Mark still work hands on in the field each day to make sure that the quality standards and practices they have developed over the last 30-years are performed – down to the smallest detail.

Being one of the roofing few companies that have been in business long enough to witness the complete lifecycle of a roof, we have developed a true “tried and tested” method of installing your roof that will undoubtedly deliver the best, longest lasting performance in the industry.

Our Future

Kevin’s son Brad and Mark’s son Daniel both work in the company. They are the new generation that will one day be taking the reins so that Atlanta Roofing Specialists will continue to be one of the best roofing companies long into the future to service our customers’ needs, following the same principals that the company was founded on.
